Week 11

Week 10 Recap

Biggest summary of the past two weeks? My team still sucks. I have now dropped 5 in a row after starting the season 5-0. Maybe my winning streak starts again this week?

Cruising for a Bruising:

So there I was, on a cruise, soaking up the sun, with all the alcohol and ice cream a person could ever need. Since I’m a little… let’s say strategic with my money, I skipped the internet package. I figured, "Why not truly relax and enjoy this break?" But, of course, the fantasy season stops for no one—especially not for me.

Instead of fully embracing the cruise life, I parked myself in front of the TV whenever I could, desperately scribbling down scores and stats as they crawled across the ticker. In my mind, I had it all figured out. I was sure I’d crush Bret, mentally mapping out who I had started versus who I thought he had started before I left. (Fantasy football has a way of making you feel like a detective, even with a tropical drink in hand.)

As the days went on, I convinced myself I had the win in the bag. I could practically see my name climbing up the standings—my cruise-boosted victory within reach.

But as soon as we docked back in the US, I pulled out my phone, opened the fantasy app, and prepared for my moment of glory. Cue record scratch: I did not in fact win. Imagine my face: a mix of sunburn, shock, and the bitter taste of a self-confidence hangover. Turns out, I may be undefeated at cruise ice cream consumption, but when it comes to fantasy… maybe not so much.

Week 11 Preview

The top three teams (Nathan, Adam, & Sharukh) have all clinched "not sacko". The remaining seven of us could all potentially get, even though unlikely for Jason.

It also means that the playoff race is wide open for the next three best teams to squeak in. Jinxing the top three teams as they are essentially a lock to make it in.

The best matchup this week is between Adam & Sharukh. Adam is hot on an 8-game win streak and would have a 6-4 record over Sharukh if they played every week this season. However, the past four weeks have been neck and neck for these two as their average scores are separated by 2 points!

According to the fantasy genius site, the rest of our games should be chalk, with the currently higher standing team winning. In each of the remaining four matchups, the better team would have be 8-2 against their opponent if they played every week.
